Voice lessons typically start with some conversation about what you want to accomplish and what you've done in the past as far as singing goes.

We then review some basics of how to use your voice in a healthy manner, and do a few exercises.

Then we'll work on any song you want to do. It can be a song from a musical or a pop song or a more classical piece - I'm interested in your tastes and preferences. If you have music on your phone to back you up, that's fine to bring, or you can sing a cappella.  I am NOT an accomplished pianist who can accompany you.

If there's no particular song you have in mind, we can find one together and get started on it.

My first voice lesson is always free of charge, so we can get to know one another and check that we're a good fit for each other.  After the first lesson, I charge $50 for a 50-minute lesson. Usually I recommend either weekly or every-other-week lessons.

Lessons are conducted in my home studio in Sunnyvale. It is possible to do some voice lessons over Zoom, but that is not an ideal way to go. We can discuss your needs and preferences ahead of time by phone or Zoom.
